Motivator is cart discount while the others are product discount.
Postsale is post-purchase while the others are pre-purchase.
1. Sale
Display a discount notification or widget when customers view product pages (scheduled sale, custom pricing)

Display an upsale popup when customers add a trigger product to cart (buy X get Y)
For example buy a t-shirt then get discount 10% to buy a jean

buy a t-shirt, a jean and pair of shoes to get 20% discount for all
